A delegation of 65+ Students from Maadi Narmer School, Maharat SUPER Global International School & our Individual program traveled to NYC in Feb. 2020. After months of preparation, our students were ready for their experience in Global Citizens MUN and to explore The Big Apple!
We were happy to kickoff our experience by visiting Egypt’s Permanent Mission to the UN – where we met with H.E Amb. Mohamed Edrees. The meeting was a great kickoff to the trip as students went into deep discussions about their topics & committees ranging from the SDGs, the Arab Israeli Conflict, & exploring hands on case studies on the hard work diplomats exert in the United Nations.
Taking it from there, we got to spend a full week exploring in NYC – from Broadway Shows, to Central Park, & the Statue of Liberty; our students definitely were charmed by the city that never sleeps! All this took place with us keeping our eyes on the ball – every day the MUN Inc. team had hands-on meetings with our delegates to bring their preparation for the conference in action. From preparing their Draft resolutions, to rehearsing Opening Speeches; our Academic Associates were with our students every step of the way.
The GCMUN Opening Ceremony took place at the General Assembly Hall in the UN. Our students were humbled to attend the exciting keynote speeches in the General Assembly Hall – where some of the world’s most iconic speeches & resolutions took place!
Full of energy & enthusiasm our participation in the conference was definitely recognizable by all participating delegations.
Our students Nadia Ayman from Maadi Narmer School, Jana Khalid from Maharat SUPER Global & Nada El Saadawy from our individual program all received Honorable Mention awards!
